Celebrate Recovery - Wednesday at 10 AM I help lead a recovery group in the chapel. In this program we use the book Life's Healing Choices, Freedom from you hurts, hang-ups, and habits, written by John Baker. . "Regardless of what you are struggling with - whether it's emotional, financial, relational, spiritual, or sexual - the principles that lead to happiness and healing are always the same, and the choice is always yours."
"We have all been hurt by other people, we've hurt ourselves, and we've hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is, where do we go from here? Life's Healing Choices offers freedom from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits through eight healing choices that promise true happiness and life transformation."
Biblical Life Coaching - On Tuesdays from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, I meet with men in the jail who request to have a more focused conversation about their addictions, their spiritual growth, and or life in general.
Teen Life Skills - Friday at 3:30 PM, I lead an interpersonal relationship program for incarcerated young men. "More than ever, young people need programs that will help prepare them for the challenges of relationships, enrich their current relationships, and inspire them to want to create and maintain healthy relationships.(Dibble)"
Tioga County Jail
Church Service once a month. This is a great opportunity to teach the word, encourage the men, and provide information about our recovery group in the community for when they are released.
Biblical Life Coaching- I am also willing to visit with men in this jail when requests are made for encouragement and coaching.
Men's Recovery Group / Fellowship
I hold this meeting most Monday nights at 6 PM at the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley. If you would like to find a fellowship of men who are familiar with the struggles of addiction, prison, or deep hurts, this group is committed to each other for the purpose of their encouragement and spiritual growth. We are not restricted to one program, but like other programs such as AA and Celebrate Recovery, we use the 12 steps and its Biblical comparisons as well as testimonies, to stir open discussion and sharing for the purpose of healing.
